Pre-pregnancy care can put you on the path to a healthy pregnancy and baby. If you’re thinking of becoming pregnant, you should begin counseling at least three months before you plan to conceive. Your partner’s health is an important aspect of this planning and should be considered as well.

Your pre-pregnancy care plan can include topics such as prenatal nutrition and supplementation, vaccinations and health screenings, a mental health assessment, overall physical health and condition, potential hazards that could impact you and your baby, family history of illness, and any prior difficulties with conceiving and carrying a baby to term.
